     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 1749, H.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO HOUSING,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to:

 

     (1)  Establish the Supportive Housing Task Force to improve data collection on supportive housing needs in the State; and

 

     (2)  Appropriate funds for the task force, including one full-time equivalent planner or specialist position.

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the State Council on Developmental Disabilities, Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center, Catholic Charities Hawaii, Partners in Care, Hawaii Community Foundation, and three individuals.  Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Governor's Coordinator on Homelessness, Department of Human Services, Department of Budget and Finance, Office of Information Practices, Common Cause Hawaii, and one individual.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1749, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
