RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH.

Requires the family court to consider assisted community treatment as an alternative to commitment to a psychiatric facility for a person subject to a petition for involuntary hospitalization.

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds and appropriates funds from fiscal years 2016-2017, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 for the design and construction of a new patient facility at the Hawaii state hospital.

Status

RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY.

Requires the seller or landlord of a residential unit or apartment to disclose (1) whether smoking occurred within the unit or apartment and other parts of the property; and (2) the applicable smoking policy if the unit or apartment is a residential condominium unit, cooperative apartment, or rental dwelling unit.

Status

RELATING TO FIREARMS.

Requires firearms owners who have been disqualified from owning a firearm and ammunition due to mental illness to immediately surrender their firearms and ammunition to the Chief of Police.

RELATING TO PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS.

Clarifies powers of physician assistants regarding nurses under chapter regulating physicians.  Removes sunset date of Act 255, SLH 2012.
