RELATING TO PARTITION OF HEIRS PROPERTY.

Adopts Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act.  Establishes procedures and remedies for use in actions for partition of real property involving heirs property (real property held in tenancy in common that meets certain requirements).  Effective July 1, 2020.  (SD1)

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO SERVICE BY PUBLICATION.

Specifies that the method of service of process for all civil cases under chapter 634, Hawaii Revised Statutes, when personal service is unsuccessful, shall include publication in a newspaper of general circulation three times or publication on a state website together with publication in a newspaper of general circulation at least once.  Effective July 1, 2020.  (SD1)

RELATING TO SERVICE CHARGES.

Requires hotels to distribute porterage service charges to employees in full or disclose to customers that the charges are being used for other purposes.  (SD1)
