RELATING TO SMOKING.

Allows condominiums and cooperative housing corporations to adopt rules prohibiting smoking, including but not limited to electronic smoking devices, in units, common elements, or limited common elements.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Increases the minimum age for persons who may purchase tobacco products or electronic smoking devices from eighteen to twenty-one years of age.  Amends the definition of "electronic smoking device" as used in section 709-908, Hawaii Revised Statutes.  Defines "tobacco products".  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Proposed HD1:  Prohibits the possession or consumption of tobacco products, including electronic smoking devices, by any person under eighteen years of age in public places.  Defines and prohibits the consumption, purchase, possession, or sale of powdered alcohol.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.
