Status

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Requires the auditor to audit the University of Hawaii's management of faculty workload one year prior to the expiration of UHPA agreements.  Requires the auditor to conduct an audit of the University of Hawaii's management of faculty workload and report to the 2016 legislature.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Requires the University of Hawaii to develop the Ana Hoohalike Guidance Program, including structured, default pathways to graduation, meta-majors, academic maps, cornerstone classes, and highly-structured options.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Requires that any undergraduate degree-granting program that graduates less than ten graduates per year be abolished.  Provides an exception for undergraduate programs that are self-sustaining.  Authorizes the board of regents to extend the three-year time period to six years.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII CANCER CENTER.

Requires the UH BOR to study the feasibility of selling or leasing the building that houses the UH Cancer Center.

RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION.

Establishes a board of governors to administer a special fund for the UH Hilo college of pharmacy.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Adds three voting members to the University of Hawaii Board of Regents to represent undergraduate students, research faculty, and other faculty.  Converts existing student member to represent graduate students.

RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Clarifies application of State Ethics Code to technology transfer arrangements supported by the University of Hawaii.

Status

RELATING TO CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT.

Establishes a cybersecurity employment training initiative within the University of Hawaii community college system; appropriates funds for the operation of the initiative.

Status

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Establishes the office of the ombuds at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Appropriates funds to establish and operate the office.

WHEN SUBMITTING WRITTEN TESTIMONY AT THE HEARING:  Please bring 20 copies for Committee Members.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
