The following measure(s) were previously heard by the Senate Committees on Health; Human Services and Housing and Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs:
RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE. Requires the 30-day termination notices for long-term care policies to be sent by certified mail or commercial delivery service instead of first-class mail. Prohibits a policy from lapsing or being terminated earlier than 60 days after the date of mailing of the notice. Takes effect on 1/1/2016. (SD1)

RELATING TO DENTISTRY. Requires the continuing education program for dentists to include three hours of ethics training per year.

RELATING TO NURSES. Beginning with the July 1, 2017, licensing biennium, requires licensed registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to submit evidence of completed continuing competency requirements prior to the renewal of the license. (SD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH. Removes the sunset provision from Act 255, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, relating to the definitions of "the practice of nursing as a licensed practical nurse" and "the practice of nursing as a registered nurse".

RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF ELECTRONIC SMOKING DEVICES. Prohibits the use of electronic smoking devices in places where smoking is prohibited. Updates signage requirements, with certain exceptions. Takes effect on 9/1/2015. (SD1)

RELATING TO SMOKING. Allows condominiums and cooperative housing corporations to adopt rules prohibiting smoking in units, common elements, or limited common elements. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH. Requires a pain medication agreement to be executed between a patient and any prescriber of a narcotic drug within the State for use as pain medication under certain conditions. Requires the administrator of the narcotics enforcement division to develop and make available a template of a pain medication agreement for use in the State. Specifies the contents of the template.
