Please be advised that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines recommending the avoidance of group meetings larger than 50 people.  Due to concerns for public health, legislative hearings have been temporarily suspended.

Status

RELATING TO FIREARMS.

Prohibits the manufacture, possession, sale, barter, trade, gift, transfer, or acquisition of detachable ammunition magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds, regardless of the type of firearm with which the magazine is compatible, except for magazines that was legally possessed prior to this Act.  Prohibits the sale, barter, trade, gift, transfer, or acquisition, except by means of inheritance, of such large-capacity magazines.  Makes an exception for possession and use by law enforcement agencies and officers.  (SD2)

RELATING TO CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES.

Establishes procedures for the use of administrative and disciplinary segregation in correctional facilities.  (SD1)

RELATING TO FIREARM REGISTRATION.

Requires the registration of firearms that are moved out of the State.  Imposes a fine of $250 per firearm for violations.  (SD2)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·    Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·    The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·    The date and time of the hearing; and

·    Measure number.

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
