"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT,"

The purpose of this measure is to require the Department of the Attorney General to convene a study group to examine the impacts of allowing child support monies collected by the Department of Human Services for the public assistance of children to pass through to the family receiving public assistance.
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Hawaii Children's Action Network Speaks!. Your Committee received testimony in opposition to this measure from one individual. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of the Attorney General, Department of Human Services, Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law & Economic Justice, Zonta Club of Hilo, and American Association of University Women.
