SENATE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

REQUESTING THE FORMATION OF A TASK FORCE ON NORTH ROAD MANAGEMENT.

 

 


     WHEREAS, North Road in Ewa Beach is a long, straight thoroughfare that connects the community to its schools, parks, churches, and other areas of Ewa Beach; and

 

     WHEREAS, safety, illegal dumping, and maintenance continue to be serious concerns on Ewa Beach's North Road; and

 

     WHEREAS, these issues are complicated by the ownership by three entities over various portions of the road, one entity being private and the other two public; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirtieth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2019, the House of Representatives concurring, that representatives from the Department of Transportation, City and County of Honolulu, Ewa Beach Golf Course, Carmel Partners, Iroquois Point, and Ewa Beach Neighborhood Board, are requested to form a task force on North Road management; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is requested to organize four task force meetings; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the task force is requested to report its recommendations on safety improvements and unified management of North Road to the Legislature no later than eight months after the passage of this resolution; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Director of Transportation, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, City Clerk, Manager of the Ewa Beach Golf Course, Manager of Carmel Partners, Manager of Iroquois Point, and Chairperson of the Ewa Beach Neighborhood Board.
