A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO PUNA.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that due to recent lava flows, the only boat ramp and pier in the Puna district on the island of Hawaii is no longer accessible or usable.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for a feasibility and cost study relating to the construction of a new boat ramp and pier in Puna.

     SECTION 2.  The department of land and natural resources shall conduct a feasibility and cost study relating to the construction of a boat ramp in Puna.  The department of land and natural resources shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2020.

     SECTION 3.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purposes of this Act.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
