A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The department of health shall conduct a study to determine the need for the Hawaii care plan, which shall make health insurance coverage available to any individual in the State who would not otherwise qualify to enroll in medicaid, within the State's medicaid program.

     (b)  The department of human services shall submit its study with its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2020.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2059.

Description:

Requires the Department of Human Services to conduct a study on the need for the Hawaii Care Plan to provide health insurance for any individual who is not otherwise eligible for medicaid.  (HB1415 HD1)
