Codifies sustainable development goals based on the United Nations' Global Goal six, clean water and sanitation.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

Requires, for any proposed action involving construction for which an environmental impact statement has been accepted by an agency but for which construction has not commenced within ten years of acceptance of the statement, the developer of the construction project to exercise due diligence with respect to any changes in the community where the project is planned and requires developers to hold community discussion and feedback sessions to discuss relevant and new concerns regarding the project.  Exempts department of agriculture capital improvement projects on state agricultural lands and irrigation water systems.  Takes effect 7/1/2025.  (SD2)

Status

RELATING TO LAND DEVELOPMENT.

Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to allocate 10% of revenues collected from commercial properties within the Banyan Drive redevelopment area to the Banyan Drive Hawaii Redevelopment Agency.  Appropriates funds from the special land and development fund to assist the county of Hawaii in conducting the necessary environmental impact studies necessary to complete its redevelopment plan for the Banyan Drive redevelopment area.  Requires matching funds from the county of Hawaii.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number.

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
