Status

RELATING TO MOVIE THEATERS.

Removes the sunset date of Act 39, Session Laws of Hawaii 2015, thereby making permanent the requirements for a public accommodation that owns, leases, leases to, or operates a motion picture theater in more than two locations in the State to provide open movie captioning during at least two showings per week of each motion picture that is produced and offered with open movie captioning and audio descriptions upon request for all motion pictures for which such accommodations are available and provide public notice if such accommodations are not available for certain movies.

Status

RELATING TO NEW MARKET TAX CREDITS.

Expands methods for the delivery of funding to projects under the Hawaii community-based economic development technical and financial assistance program by providing loans to capitalize a qualified community development entity.  Removes the cap on loan amounts and terms under the program.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

Individuals or organizations wishing to offer comments should submit testimony by 4:00pm the day prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name and if applicable position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     Statement of support, opposition, or comments.

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received after 4:00pm the day prior to the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

 

Submit testimony in ONE of the following ways:

PAPER: 9 copies (including an original) to Room 310 in the State Capitol;

FAX:      For testimony less than 5 pages in length, transmit to 808-586-8544 (Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (for Neighbor Islander without a computer to submit testimony through e-mail or the Web); or

WEB:     For testimony less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
