A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the puna district agricultural park.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for a feasibility study for planning and land acquisition for an agricultural park in the Puna district to provide access to agricultural lands for small scale farmers.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for a feasibility study for planning and land acquisition for an agricultural park in the Puna district.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
