A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of health for the purchase of ambulance vehicles and their operational costs, including equipment, supplies, and personnel costs for state-certified emergency medical services personnel, for one twenty-four-hour, seven-days-a-week ambulance unit each for the counties.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for four twenty-four-hour, seven-days-a-week ambulance units, including the purchase of one ambulance vehicle for each unit and operating costs, including equipment, supplies, and personnel costs for state-certified emergency medical services personnel, to be allocated as follows:

     (1)  One unit for the city and county of Honolulu;

     (2)  One unit for the county of Maui;

     (3)  One unit for the county of Kauai; and

     (4)  One unit for the county of Hawaii.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
