A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to industrial hemp.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to fund two full-time equivalent positions within the department of agriculture for the industrial hemp program.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $258,298 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 and the sum of $324,796 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 to fund one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) program coordinator position and one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) inspector position within the department of agriculture for the industrial hemp program.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
