Status

RELATING TO DENTISTRY.

Requires every dentist to post, in a conspicuous place, a notice containing contact information for the Consumer Resource Center of the Regulated Industries Complaints Office. Requires the Board of Dental Examiners to ensure on-site inspections of the facilities, equipment, and staffing of all applicants seeking written authorizations or permits for the administration of general anesthesia, deep sedation, or moderate (conscious) sedation.

RELATING TO ASSAULT.

Establishes that an offense is assault in the second degree if a person intentionally or knowingly causes bodily injury to a health care or human services professional. Defines health care or human services professional.

RELATING TO REMOTE SALES OF CIGARETTES AND TOBACCO PRODUCTS.

Prohibits the remote sale and distribution of cigarettes and tobacco products, including electronic smoking devices, to consumers except to licensed wholesalers or dealers and permit-holding retailers. Makes violation of the prohibition a class C felony subject to a maximum fine of $5,000.

RELATING TO EARLY INTERVENTION.

Appropriates funds for the procurement of, and maintenance and training for, a web-based data system in the department of health's early intervention section.

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Appropriates funds to support basic operations, staff salaries and benefits, and continued hospitalist physician services at Wahiawa General Hospital.
