RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.

Requires motor vehicle insurers to make satisfactory arrangements with the insurance commissioner to handle claims and service policies within the State. Specifies that motor vehicle insurers are required to maintain at least one physical sales and claims service office in each county. Requires the insurance commissioner to submit a report to the legislature, each year for five years, regarding any consumer complaints received as a result of changing the requirements for motor vehicle insurers to maintain a field presence in Hawaii. Takes effect on 7/1/2050. Repeals on 6/30/2022. (SD1)

Amends the definition of "physician" in Workers' Compensation Law to include advanced practice registered nurses. (SB984 HD1)

RELATING TO CONTRACTORS.

Requires any person applying for a license as an electrical contractor or electronic systems contractor to possess a trade license or an electrical engineering degree from an accredited college to perform electrical work in the State. RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY.

RELATING TO PRESERVING CORAL REEFS.

Prohibits use and sale of nonprescription sunscreen, sunblock, or cosmetics containing oxybenzone or other chemicals deemed harmful to coral reefs by the Department of Land and Natural Resources within a marine life conservation district. Requires commercial permittees to inform all customers of the prohibition. Authorizes Department of Land and Natural Resources to propose rules for other areas to conserve state marine resources.
