A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to health.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $18,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for the alcohol and drug abuse division of the department of health to increase the division's service capacity for the mentally ill, in particular mentally ill individuals who are also struggling with homelessness; provided that the appropriations shall be in addition to, and shall not supplant, the alcohol and drug abuse division's base budget for fiscal year 2017-2018 or fiscal year 2018-2019.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
