RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Clarifies that in the event of a natural disaster, the chief election officer or county clerk in the case of county elections prior to the day of election has the authority to determine whether to postpone or vote by absentee ballot in an election affected by the natural disaster. Authorizes the governor on the day of election and thereafter to determine whether to postpone or vote by absentee ballot in an election affected by the natural disaster unless the governor is a candidate for office in that election. Authorizes the employees' retirement system board of trustees to hold a meeting closed to the public to discuss or decide upon certain matters. Effective 01/07/2059. (SD1)

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony. Those wishing to provide oral testimony will be limited to two minutes.
