MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE MOLOA‘A WELL PROJECT ON THE ISLAND OF KAUAI.

Appropriates funds for land acquisition, planning, design, and construction of a new well, alternative energy development to power the well, and a post-harvest facility at Moloa‘a on the island of Kauai.

RELATING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.

Requires the Commission on Water Resources Management to conduct climate adaptation and resilience planning for Hawaii through 2050 to provide assistance to the State and counties.  Directs the commission to assess fees to monitor and manage Hawaii's ground and surface water.

Status

RELATING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.

Requires the chairperson of the board of land and natural resources and the Hawaii Public Health Association to appoint members to a climate change and health working group to examine various potential health impacts of climate change and assist the State's health professionals in effectively and efficiently preparing for and responding to the various potential health impacts; and requires the interagency climate adaption committee to include the findings and recommendations of the climate change and health working group in the committee's report to the legislature.

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE NATURAL RESOURCE GOALS OF THE ALOHA+ CHALLENGE.

Appropriates funds for the natural resource goals of the Aloha+ Challenge.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number.

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony. If during the course of the hearing it appears that there will not be sufficient time to allow everyone to be heard, the chairperson reserves the right to limit the remaining testifiers to three minutes.  This three minute policy will be enforced to ensure fairness and adequate consideration to all bills.
