Status

RELATING TO THE KANEOHE BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL.

Removes the superintendent of education from the Kaneohe bay regional council.  Adds the administrator of the aquatic resources division in place of one member from the division.  Designates the administrator of the aquatic resources division as the chair.  Deletes the requirements that the chairperson of the council be a nongovernmental member and that the chairperson may not serve more than 2 consecutive years.  Requires the Council to hold quarterly hearings on the status of the master plan.  Requires the council to review and report on the continued relevance and need for changes in its powers, duties, and functions.  (SD1)

RELATING TO BEACH MANAGEMENT FOR THE NORTH SHORE OF OAHU.

Appropriates funds to the University of Hawaii sea grant college program to create a north shore beach management plan for the north shore of Oahu stretching from Sunset beach to Waimea bay.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

RELATING TO THE KAHO‘OLAWE ISLAND RESERVE.

Authorizes a portion of the conveyance tax revenues to be paid into the Kaho‘olawe rehabilitation trust fund for the long-term rehabilitation and maintenance of the Kaho‘olawe island reserve.  Repeals on the earlier of 6/30/2026 or upon federal and state recognition of the Sovereign Native Hawaiian entity.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

Repeals the directive to amend the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, 1920, as amended, to accomplish the purposes of Act 195, Session Laws of Hawaii 2011.  (SD1)
