Status

RELATING TO FOSTER CARE SERVICES.

Increases the monthly board rate for foster care services.  Makes an appropriation.  Requires DHS to report on impact of board rate increase.

Status

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES.

Requires the State to pay interest on late payments to an operator of an adult day care facility, community care foster family home, or adult residential care home.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE.

Amends the state supplemental income for adult residential care homes (ARCHs), expanded ARCHs, and other homes specified in section 346-53, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and changes the public assistance allowance to equal an unspecified percentage of the current poverty level established by the federal government.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE.

Requires long-term care insurance policies or certificates to cover care at adult residential care homes, expanded adult residential care homes, and community care foster family homes.  Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

Establishes and appropriates funds for the medicaid buy-in program for workers with disabilities.  Effective 7/1/14.

Status

RELATING TO DISABLED PERSONS.

Requires the DHS to establish and administer a service dog certification program.  Requires persons accompanied by a service dog to possess a service dog certificate issued by the department.  Establishes a penalty for falsely representing a dog as a service dog.  Takes effect 1/1/15.

HB 1799

Status

RELATING TO CHANGE OF NAME.

Allows a family court to change the name of a minor child in a divorce proceeding of the parents if the child was the victim of child sexual abuse by either parent or if the court determines that the name change is in the best interests of the child when there has been no conviction of the parent for sexual abuse.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
