RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Establishes within the Livestock Revitalization Program of the Department of Agriculture a program to provide grants to qualified feed developers. Appropriates funds. Effective July 1, 2014.

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Applies the offense of false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee to include grade standard violations and all stages of production of Hawaii-grown coffee.

Exempts governmental bodies from the Procurement Code for fresh meat and produce and animals and plants.

Requires labelling of out-of-state products sold at farmers markets.

RELATING TO THE MILK CONTROL.

Establishes a $300,000 minimum reserve requirement in the Milk Control Special Fund to cover contingency costs in the administration of the State's Milk Control Act. Specifically includes audits as a contingency cost. Effective July 1, 2014.

Status

RELATING TO THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE.

Adds one at large member to the board of agriculture. Requires at least one at large member of the board of agriculture to have expertise in organic farming.

RELATING TO A SCHOOL FARM COMPLEX.

Establishes a School Farm Complex Task Force to determine the feasibility of a school farm complex pilot project on Oahu. Requires a report to the legislature.

     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

     The date and time of the hearing; and

     Measure number.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
