Funds a pilot project at the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii at Manoa to create new technologies for sustainable agriculture in the State through scientific research and support services. Appropriation. Effective July 1, 2014.

Enables a resource strategy aligned with the State's 2030 clean energy laws.  Revises the environmental response, energy, and food security tax repeal date to June 30, 2030.

Establishes and appropriates funds for a little fire ant pilot project to research solutions for addressing the little fire ant threat in Hawaii.

Makes the department of agriculture's free assistance to landowners and other relevant parties in the control and eradication of pests discretionary, rather than mandatory.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony should indicate:

     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
