RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Deletes the limitation of agricultural tourism as a permissible use of agricultural land to only counties with not less than 3 islands. Establishes educational retreats as a permissible use within agricultural districts.

Establishes the Hawaii Farm to School Program and Farm to School Coordinator position. Appropriation. Effective July 1, 2014.

RELATING TO FARM TO SCHOOL MONTH IN HAWAII.

Designates the month of October as "Farm to School Month in Hawaii".

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Permits the acquisition of raw milk and raw milk products by owners of cows, goats, and sheep and cow shares, goat shares, and sheep shares if certain conditions are met. Requires farms and dairies that produce raw milk or raw milk products to register with the department of health. Permits farms and dairies to set up a location near an improved road to distribute their products to owners of cow, sheep, or goat shares. Prohibits the sale and redistribution of raw milk and raw milk products.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Establishes on-farm mentoring program to teach and train farmers to utilize a whole system approach to agriculture. Appropriates funds. Effective July 1, 2014.

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Clarifies the applicability of section 205-4.6, HRS, relating to private restrictions on agricultural uses and activities, to condominium projects on lands classified as agricultural.

Status

RELATING TO CIVIL LIABILITY FOR THE INTRASTATE TRANSPORT OF INVASIVE SPECIES.

Establishes an affirmative responsibility on the consignor of any landscape material or products, agricultural goods, construction materials, equipment, vehicles, soil, or sand to prevent the movement of invasive species in Hawaii. Appropriates funds to the department of agriculture to enforce restrictions on intrastate movement of invasive species. Establishes and appropriates funds for an invasive species task force to address the continued movement of invasive plants, plant pests, and vertebrate pests between islands.

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Appropriates funds to the department of agriculture and the University of Hawaii to research and develop methods for the prevention and treatment of macadamia felted coccid.

Appropriates funds for pesticide regulation.
