RELATING TO TELEMEDICINE.

Exempts from licensing requirement to practice medicine in the State any commissioned medical officer or commissioned or civilian behavioral health professional employed by the U.S. Department of Defense, who is credentialed by Tripler Army Medical Center, while providing direct telemedicine support or services to neighbor island beneficiaries within a Hawaii national guard armory on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Molokai, or Maui.

SB 67

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO CRIMINAL PROCEDURE.

Creates procedural and administrative requirements for law enforcement agencies for eyewitness identifications of suspects in criminal investigations.  Grants a defendant the right to challenge any eyewitness identification to be used at trial in a pretrial evidentiary hearing.  Takes effect 1/1/2014.

SB 941

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO BROADBAND.

Requires the State and the counties to approve, approve with modification, or disapprove all broadband-related permits within sixty business days of submitting a permit application and a fee; provided that if no action is taken on the sixty-first business day, the application will be deemed approved.  Effective upon approval, and repealed on June 30, 2018.
