RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Appropriates funds from the agricultural development and food security special fund to the DOA for the U.S. Pacific Basin Agricultural Research Center to research and develop methods for the prevention and treatment of coffee berry borer infestations.  Provides a grant-in-aid from the agricultural development and food security special fund for the coffee berry borer task force for control of the coffee berry borer and mitigation of damage.

Appropriates funds for the state rent supplement program for working individuals or families who are ready to rent permanent housing in order to obtain and maintain permanent housing.  Excludes individuals or families who receive public assistance or other government benefits or entitlements from qualifying to receive moneys under this Act.  Effective July 1, 2013.

Eliminates the asset limit for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

RELATING TO CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE FEES.

Requires DHS to gather data and recommend fees for licensure and certification of certain programs transferred to DOH.  Requires DHS to recommend fees for training and recertification of nurse aides.  Effective July 1, 2013.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
