Status

RELATING TO ELECTRICITY.

Authorizes the Public Utilities Commission to:  (1) Develop, adopt, and enforce reliability standards and interconnection requirements; and (2) Contract for the performance of related duties with a party that will serve as the Hawaii electricity reliability administrator.  Authorizes the collection of a Hawaii electricity reliability surcharge to be collected by Hawaii's electric utilities.  Effective July 1, 3000. Status

RELATING TO ENVIRONMENT.

Creates a climate change adaptation policy for the State of Hawaii by amending the Hawaii State Planning Act to include climate change adaptation priority guidelines.  Requires counties to take into account a predicted sea level rise of one foot by 2050.  (SB2745 HD1)

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TIRES.

Reestablishes the motor vehicle tire surcharge.  Establishes a task force which shall study ways to prevent or control the problem of abandoned tires.  Effective July 1, 2012.  (SB3006 HD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Appropriates moneys as a grant pursuant to Chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children to implement a peripheral blood stem cell/apheresis program.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2958 HD1)

RELATING TO HOSPITAL LICENSING.

Permits the department of health the option of recognizing full accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as evidence of hospital compliance with all licensing inspection for the duration of the accreditation.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE.

Consolidates the authority, duties, responsibilities, and jurisdiction of the DHS and DOH, as they relate to various health care services; transfers the programs of DHS relating to home and community-based case management, community care foster family homes, and adult day care to DOH on July 1, 2014.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2126 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO AGING.

Establishes the Home- and Community-Based Services Program.  Appropriates funds for the needs of the State's older adults and elderly population.  Effective July 1, 2012.  (SB2320 HD1)

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

FAX:       For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to 586-6001 (Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (for Neighbor Islanders without a computer to submit testimony through e-mail or the Web); or

WEB:      For comments less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
