A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAMPAIGN SPENDING.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part XIII to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§11-    Contributions not expended for another state or county office.  Contributions shall be expended for the office sought by the candidate at the time the contribution is received and shall not be expended by the candidate in an election for another state or county office without the contributor's written consent."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
