"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE,"

having met, and after full and free discussion, has agreed to recommend and does recommend to the respective Houses the final passage of this bill in an amended form.

The purpose of this measure is to:

(3) Specify that Hawaiian names and words be deemed accurate, appropriate, and authentic when printed in conformance with "Hawaiian Dictionary: Hawaiian-English, English-Hawaiian", by Mary Kawena Pukui and Samuel H. Your Committee on Conference has amended this measure by:

(1) Adding "Place Names of Hawaii", by Mary Kawena Pukui, Samuel H. Elbert, and Esther T. Mookini, University of Hawaii Press, copyright 1974 as an acceptable reference for determining the accuracy, appropriateness, and authenticity of Hawaiian names and words; and
