A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 28-9, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

     "§28-9  Additional deputies for acquisition of rights-of-way.  The attorney general may appoint and employ deputy attorneys general, additional to those covered by the appropriation for the department of the attorney general, to provide legal services for the acquisition of rights-of-way and for proceedings therefor[, and the].  The compensation for [such] these services shall be paid by the state department of transportation from the state highway fund."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
