RELATING TO SHARK FINS.

Prohibits the harvest, possession, sale, or distribution of a shark or shark parts unless landed whole and harvested under a commercial marine license.  Prohibits under Hawaii Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, possession or sale of shark fins.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2169 HD2)

Status

RELATING TO SOLAR ENERGY DEVICES.

Clarifies that the rules of a private homeowners association or entity shall not impose conditions or restrictions that render a solar energy device more than 25% less effective, increase the cost of installation, maintenance, and removal of a solar energy device, or require an encumbrance on title because of the placement of the solar energy device.  (SD1)

RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE REVOCATION.

Authorizes administrative director of the courts to permit administrative driver's license revocation hearings to be held in county other than county of arrest and to permit hearings by telephonic, video, or other electronic means.  (SB107 HD1)

REQUESTING ALL BRANCHES OF STATE GOVERNMENT AND ALL AGENCIES OF COUNTY GOVERNMENTS TO MAKE GOVERNMENT RECORDS AVAILABLE IN DIGITIZED FORM READABLE BY SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED AND TO PROVIDE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES AND THE PUBLIC WITH THE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE NECESSARY TO DIGITIZE AND READ PUBLIC RECORDS.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

 

Submit testimony in ONE of the following ways:

PAPER:  one copy (including an original) to Room 302 in the State Capitol;

FAX:       For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to 586-8494 (for Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (for Neighbor Islanders without a computer to submit testimony through e-mail or the Web);

EMAIL: For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to [email protected] ; or

WEB:     For comments less than 4MB in size, transmit from the Web page at http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/emailtestimony.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
