Status

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND TOURISM.

Establishes the department of business, economic development, and tourism operation special fund.  Imposes a surcharge on the fees charged by certain departments for certain business- and commerce-related authorizations and services.  Requires the deposit of the surcharge revenues, as well as $2 million from the financial institutions tax, into the special fund.  Requires moneys in the special fund to be used for the operation of the department of business, economic development, and tourism.  Takes effect on 7/1/10 and sunsets on 6/30/15.

RELATING TO THE SMALL BUSINESS REGULATORY REVIEW BOARD.

Transfers the administrative assignment of the small business regulatory review board from the department of business, economic development, and tourism to the department of commerce and consumer affairs.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
