RELATING TO KAKAAKO.

Increases the reserved housing requirement for a development in the Kakaako community development district, mauka area, for lots 3 acres or more in area to 25% of the countable floor area of the development.  Directs HCDA to submit a report prior to the convening of the 2017 regular session on its reserved housing program in the Kakaako community development district.  (HB948 HD1)

RELATING TO LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDITS.

Makes state low-income housing tax credits more valuable by shortening the period over which the credits can be taken from ten years to five years.  Authorizes the election of the maximum amount of grant in lieu of tax credits authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Authorizes the state low-income housing tax credit to be taken with federal low-income housing tax credits as authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  (HB1043 HD1)

RELATING TO HOUSING.

Enables the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation to more easily collect the value of shared appreciation equity and other restrictions when an affordable housing property is publicly sold through a foreclosure.  Requires written notification of intent to foreclose on properties encumbered by such priority liens.  (HB1044 HD2)
