A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to elections.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§11-    Elections procurement.  In regards to any election procurement, the conditions of sections 103D-307 and 103D-701(f) shall be deemed to exist when the procurement has been the subject of any of the provisions of part VII of chapter 103D and a contract has not or cannot reasonably be expected to be entered into at three hundred sixty-five days prior to the first election that is the subject of the procurement.  In such a situation, the chief election officer may either award the contract or make an emergency procurement."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.
     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval and shall be repealed on           .
