STAND. COM. REP. NO. 3652
Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 564
Honorable Colleen Hanabusa
President of the Senate
Twenty-Fourth State Legislature
Regular Session of 2008
State of Hawaii
Madam:
Your Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 564, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
State Board of Chiropractic Examiners
G.M. No. 564 |
DONNA LEE CHING, for a term to expire 6-30-2009, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by the nominee, and finds Donna Lee Ching to have the necessary qualifications to be nominated to the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Testimony in support of Ms. Ching's nomination was submitted by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, and three private individuals.
Ms. Ching received her Bachelor of Arts from Williams College and her Master of Business Administration from Yale University School of Management. She currently serves as the Director of Development for the Honolulu office of Leo A. Daly, the nation's ninth largest architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design firm where she is responsible for business development, market analysis, and brand management in the Pacific.
Ms. Ching has served as a publicly elected member of the Manoa Neighborhood Board and on the Advisory Board for the Hawaii Family Support Center (Healthy Start). She currently serves as a board member of the Honolulu Community Action Program, which operates Oahu's largest Head Start program and other safety net social services, and has been a participant in the Friends of the Natatorium and the Kapiolani Park Preservation Society, to name a few.
Ms. Ching's demonstrated commitment, motivation, education, and professional experiences will greatly assist the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Affordable Housing,
