A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-fifth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009:
A. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Expansion of the cafeteria. $2,850,000
Total funding $2,850,000
B. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Renovation of historic building W, a building on the national register that has never been renovated. $9,800,000
Total funding $9,800,000
C. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Renovation of building 857.
Design $ 540,000
Construction 3,360,000
Equipment 100,000
Total funding $4,000,000
D. Central middle school, Oahu
Design and construction to enclose pedestrian overpass that connects the mauka and makai campuses.
Design $ 45,000
Construction 150,000
Total funding $195,000
E. Queen Kaahumanu elementary school, Oahu
Design, construction and equipment for a new computer resource center; classroom and support spaces; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

F. Washington middle school, Oahu

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
