A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to tourism workforce development.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, for Hawaiian hospitality training programs for workforce development to support such programs on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui; provided that only an amount that is equal to half of the amount invested by the Hawaii tourism authority in fiscal year 2007-2008 and fiscal year 2008-2009 in Hawaiian hospitality training programs for workforce development shall be appropriated.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii tourism authority for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
