A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO HEALTH.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for the operations of the Hawaii AIDS clinical trials unit at the University of Hawaii.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $7,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 to fund:
(1) Services provided for uninsured individuals by community health centers statewide; and
(2) Operations of the Hawaii primary care association, which assists organizations and providers that focus on accessible and cost-effective health services.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the sum of $450,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for hospital-based dental services for the developmentally disabled community in the county of Hawaii.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the dental health division of the department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
