A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to substance abuse prevention.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $5,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2005-2006, for

substance abuse prevention for youth, which shall include, but is not limited to, after school programs facilitated by the YMCA, the Weed and Seed program, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Lions Club.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purpose of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
