RELATING TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

Creates general excise tax rebate for physicians for qualified medical information technology costs.

MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES.

Makes an emergency appropriation ($981,719) for additional funds from the Early Intervention Special Fund for FY 2004-2005, for the Family Health Services Division for early intervention services for infants and children from birth to three years of age.

SB 1537

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ON-CALL EMERGENCY CARE SERVICES AT THE QUEEN'S MEDICAL CENTER.

Appropriates funds for on-call emergency care services at The Queen's Medical Center in support of its emergency department and trauma center. Requires the legislative reference bureau in partnership with the Center to study the impact of the on-call crisis center on the State's Level II Trauma Center.

RELATING TO LIABILITY.

Provides limited liability for community health centers that operate a helicopter landing pad for use by Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic helicopters. Repealed on June 30, 2007.

RELATING TO A CONTINUUM OF HEALTH CARE SETTINGS.

Allows the DOH to license special treatment facilities and therapeutic living programs.

RELATING TO ENFORCEMENT OF QUARANTINE.

Clarifies that police officers and sheriffs have the authority and duty to enforce quarantine orders when required by the Department of Health.

RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH.

Expands the definition of "serious mental illness" to include delusional disorder, major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and dissociative disorder.
