A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation for senior housing security.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds that security guards are needed at the Hale Poa'i Senior Housing facility in Kalihi to provide for the safety and well-being of elderly residents.

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds to the housing and community development corporation of Hawaii to hire more security guards for the Hale Poa'i Senior Housing facility.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, for the purpose of hiring security personnel for the Hale Poa'i Senior Housing facility.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the housing and community development corporation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
