A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2004-2005, for design and construction for installation and/or upgrading of curb ramps and bus stops on state highways and streets to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This project is deemed necessary to qualify for federal aid financing and/or reimbursement.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
