A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to recycled water.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 342D-71, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"[[]§342D-71[]] Recycled water use[.]; state and county plan. (a) All state and county facilities using potable water irrigation systems may connect to available recycled water service.
(b) By January 1, 2004, and every tenth year thereafter, the governor and the mayors of each county shall submit a recycled water use plan to the legislature and the respective county councils. The recycled water use plan shall:
(1) Be cooperatively developed and implemented by the governor and the mayors of each county; and
(2) Promote and expand the use of recycled water by state and county government agencies."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
