A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation for the payment of damages for hawaiian home lands trust individual claims.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $17,970,822.74, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, for payment of monetary damages to claimants whose claims have been adjudicated by the Hawaiian home lands trust individual claims review panel, pursuant to chapter 674, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of commerce and consumer affairs for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
