A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO THE PATIENTS' BILL OF RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ACT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 432E-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:

"(d) Members of the review panel shall be granted immunity from liability and damages relating to their duties under this section. The physician member of a review panel shall be paid a fee of $200 for service on each panel the physician is appointed to by the commissioner. Both payment of the fee and selection of the review panel members shall be exempt from chapter 103D."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
