A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION STUDY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $50,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005 for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 2. The director of transportation shall conduct a preliminary engineering study on the feasibility of creating a direct access on-ramp from the Likelike highway (Honolulu bound) onto the H-3 freeway (Kailua bound).

The director of transportation shall report the findings and recommendations of the study to the legislature, no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the 2005 regular session.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
