A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $23,757,174, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2004-2005, for the projects of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation:

(1) Two-story wing, Hale Ho'ola Hamakua

Plans, design, construction, and

equipment of a two-story wing at Hale

Ho'ola Hamakua to expand the bed capacity

by sixty additional beds $9,099,000

(2) Alzheimer and long-term care facility,

Kula hospital

Plans, design, construction, and

equipment of a sixteen-bed Alzheimer

and forty-nine-bed long term care

facility. $10,504,000

(3) Emergency room and urgent care facilities,

Maui Memorial Medical Center

Design, construction, and equipment to

renovate and expand emergency and urgent

care facilities. $4,154,174

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2006, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
