A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

Making an appropriation for the support of renewable energy systems.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $10,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005, for funding 35 per cent of the total cost of solar energy systems, 20 per cent of the total cost of wind powered energy systems, 35 per cent of the total cost of photovoltaic energy systems, and 20 per cent of the total cost of hydrogen systems installed and placed in service within the State during fiscal year 2004-2005.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
